Shane Potter, NHA

Shane Potter, NHA

Executive Director

I began my career in long-term care 10 years ago as a certified nursing assistant in a skilled nursing facility. I worked as a certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) and a certified medication technician (C.M.T.) for 3 1/2 years while completing college.

I graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration: health care management. After graduation, I was promoted to director of social services and worked in this capacity for just over six months before being promoted to assistant administrator.

I worked as an assistant administrator for a year until I received my license as a nursing home administrator and subsequently was promoted to executive director.

I’ve now been an executive director for five years and will continue to treat every resident like family. My passion is caring for people, and I’m so excited to be part of the Paddock Ridge team.

Director of Sales

I was born and raised here in Ocala. I am a proud mother of three wonderful and handsome boys. I started my career in 2011 as a CNA while I continued my education in Business Management. After several years of being a CNA, I then transitioned into Sales and Marketing, remaining in the senior care industry. I truly enjoy what I do and I am blessed to be able to say that, because it’s rare to find happiness in work. Besides work, I enjoy my family, beach trips, and reading.

Director of Health Services

I’ve lived in Ocala my entire life and have always worked in the medical field. I started out as a medical assistant and then became an ultrasound technician, and I’ve now been a nurse for the last 10 years. During those 10 years, I’ve mostly worked in long-term care facilities, home health field nurse and assisted living facilities, and have been a director for the last three years. My passion was always to be a nurse. I believe in treating every resident/client as if they were part of my own family. I’m very excited to be part of Paddock Ridge.

Jennifer Hartshorn

Lifestyles Director

As the lifestyles director for Paddock Ridge assisted living and memory care, I’m excited to be part of a family-oriented team. I have nearly two years of experience in activities with assisted living. During that time, I’ve grown immensely in the field and have created relationships, both personally and professionally, that I had no idea were possible.

My residents are my top priority when implementing an activities program that suits the needs of each individual. I have a great deal of understanding when it comes to the needs of residents and their families. I’m originally from upstate New York but have spent most of my life in central Florida. My hobbies include crafting, painting, reading and my dogs.

Dining Services Director

I was born and raised in Florida. I started working in assisted living facilities right out of high school as a server and fell in love with it. After a few other adventures, such as cooking fine dining in a country club, banquet cooking, and running a sports bar and grill, I returned to assisted living (ALFs) because that’s where my heart is. I’ve never had such a strong connection anywhere as I have with residents over the years. Most recently I was director of dining services for a 72-bed memory care community. My goal is to provide a truly individualized dining experience based on each resident’s needs. In my free time, I enjoy playing competitive pool.

Janet Wyman

Business Office Director

I began working in the senior living care business as a receptionist at a local assisted living community. I was soon promoted to business office director and then to executive director. I’ve spent over 20 years doing something I love. Establishing relationships and enhancing the lives of those in your care is a very humbling and rewarding experience.

I’m excited to have joined the Paddock Ridge team as business office director. Along with our staff and management team, I look forward to providing quality care and services to the residents and families we have the privilege of serving.

Don Wood

Director of Engineering

I’ve been employed in assisted living communities for over 15 years, working to keep our residents safe and happy. I have 40-plus years’ experience in construction and maintenance, including having worked with reputable assisted living companies as the senior maintenance director overseeing their Florida portfolios. I’m a family man and love camping and boating. I treat all our residents as family. The true reward of caring for our residents is in the heart.
